After posting a few advertisements on The Cannibal Cafe (a blog site for people with cannibal fetishes) requesting someone that wished to be eaten, he received a reply and even met up with at least one other man, who bailed out and left. YES. This is a normal response. Well, ‘normal’ would’ve been not frequenting a blog for cannibal’s, but let’s not be picky…

Then a certain Bernd Jürgen Armando Brandes replied to Meiwes.
Like Meiwes, Brandes also had a cannibalism fetish, but in the way that he desired to be consumed. He was the one!

Brandes arrived at Armin’s home, and still consenting, requested that Meiwes bite his penis off…

…although it was too difficult and eventually had to be cut off. Brandes attempted to eat his penis raw, but couldn’t because it was “too chewy”. Meiwes then fried it with Brandes’ fat, and other spices, but burned it. 🙄 So he chopped it up and gave it to his dog.

Meiwes read a Star Trek book for 3 hours as Brandes bleed out in the bathtub. He gave Brandes alcohol, sleeping pills and painkillers. Soon, Meiwes kissed him on the forehead, and stabbed Brandes in the throat. In a room specially made for the event, Meiwes hung the body and slowly dismantled it. The whole scene was found recorded on a four-hour tape in Meiwes’ video camera upon his arrest in December 2002 (having been reported by another user of the forum Meiwes posted his ads in).

Over the 10 months following the killing, Meiwes stored the body parts in his freezer, and is said to have consumed up to 20 kilograms of Brandes’ flesh.

The video that the authorities found was shown to a jury, and some journalists actually needed therapy after seeing the disturbing evidence. In the video transcript, Meiwes talks about how difficult it is to dismantle the body. There have been some leaked screenshots of the video…

On 30th January 2004, Meiwes was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to eight years in prison. The case attracted considerable media attention (obviously).

Meiwes has admitted cannibalising Brandes and has expressed regret for his actions. He added he wanted to write a book of his life story with the aim of deterring anyone who wants to follow his footsteps.

Websites dedicated to Meiwes have suddenly appeared since, with other people advertising for willing victims. “They should go for treatment, so it doesn’t escalate like it did with me”, said Meiwes.

While in prison, Meiwes has since become a vegetarian 🙄
He also said that he believes there are about 800 cannibals in Germany.
