Updating your speaker's firmware to version 1.00.53 or newer makes your speaker somewhat louder and more feature-rich than with previous firmware versions. Browse to our Start page and follow the instructions to update your speaker. Once you download and install the Fugoo Speaker Updater Utility, it will show you the current version of your speaker's firmware.

We use one LED to indicate the state of the speaker.
Generally, blue indicates Bluetooth connection status, and green shows battery charge status (and red indicates a very low battery charge).
Connection status:
Blinking blue/red: Pairing Mode. The speaker is available for pairing with a source device (smartphone, tablet, Mac, PC, etc.)
Blinking blue: Not currently connected, but available to connect with a source device with which it has been paired.
Solid blue: Connected -- currently paired with and connected to a source device.
Battery charge status:
By momentarily clicking the Power button when the speaker is on (and not charging) the LED will blink to indicate the battery status. (After a power source is disconnected, give the speaker 5 seconds to determine the battery capacity before you click the Power button.)
One green blink: battery charge is low
Two green blinks: battery is one quarter charged
Three green blinks: battery is 1/2 charged
Four green blinks: battery is 3/4 charged
Five green blinks: battery is almost fully charged
Six green blinks: battery fully charged
If the battery's charge is critically low, the LED will blink red (automatically, rather than when the power button is clicked).
Battery charging status:
When the speaker is charging, it will slowly pulse green/off. It takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery on your Fugoo Speaker using the included Fugoo adapter. With a different AC adapter, your charge time may vary, based on the amount of power the charger can deliver and the adapter's level of USB Charge compatibility.
When the battery has reached full charge, the LED will glow solid green.

First make sure that your speaker has the latest firmware, available from our Start page.
Follow the instructions there to update to the latest firmware.
We created tones and voice prompts for our speaker to deliver a useful and fun experience. Once you become familiar with the speaker's behavior, you may prefer to have a quieter experience.
You can now switch between three voice prompt levels by holding the + and – buttons while pressing the power button.
Normal - Voice prompts and tones are set to volume level 10.
Low - Voice prompts and tones are set to volume level 7.
Off - No voice prompts and tones, except for a very few including the Pairing mode voice prompt.
Enjoy Your Music!

Fugoo firmware update

Your Fugoo Bluetooth Speaker can connect wirelessly with most Bluetooth-equipped devices. That includes iPhones, most Android phones, iPads, the 4th gen iPod Nano, Windows phones, the Kindle fire, the MacBook and MacBook Pro, most newer Windows PCs, and more.
Additionally, the speaker can connect to any device with a standard 3.5mm / 1/8' headphone jack, using the supplied audio cable.

Our newest speaker, Fugoo GO, can be paired with another Fugoo GO speaker. This feature is enabled right out of the box.
Our first two speakers, Fugoo and Fugoo XL, cannot be paired.

No problem...! The shower is a very humid environment, though, even when the water's not running, so we recommend frequently taking it out of the shower to give it an opportunity to thoroughly dry out.

Setting the loudness / volume of your music or phone call can be confusing, because there are 'volume' controls on both the Fugoo Bluetooth Speaker and on your audio device (phone, tablet, etc.)
For most devices, these volume controls work independently, so you'll need to set them separately. The most important thing is to make sure that the volume setting on the audio device is not all-the-way-down. Think of it this way: If you send your music to the speaker at zero-volume, there won't be anything to play.
The same is true if you connect your audio device to your speaker's Aux In jack with the included audio cable -- the volume controls on the audio device and Speaker work independently.
(Some newer devices, including iPhones and iPads, make this a bit easier by supporting a Bluetooth protocol that synchronizes the volume levels between the device and the Fugoo Bluetooth Speaker. Changing either one -- using the volume buttons or slider on the phone, or the volume buttons on the speaker -- changes them both.)
Generally, you'll want to set your audio device to full volume, and then you can control the volume of the music at the speaker, using its Volume Up and Down buttons (or the optional Remote) for anything between totally silent to Let's Party

First, make sure that your Fugoo Speaker has firmware 1.00.36 or later. You can determine your Fugoo speaker's firmware version with the PC or MAC Fugoo Speaker Updater Utility. This app can be installed from our Start page.
Connect the speaker to your computer, and then launch the PC or MAC Fugoo Speaker Updater. It will show you the speaker's firmware version. If it's less than 1.00.36, be sure to download the latest firmware, and then run the Fugoo Speaker Updater Utility to update the speaker with that new firmware.
Firmware versions beginning with 1.0.36 make the speaker significantly louder than it is with earlier firmware.
Our speaker produces 360° sound. Experiment with various speaker placements for different rooms.
One great option is to place the speaker a few inches away from a corner. The mid-woofers on the two narrow sides of the speaker, as well as the passive radiator on the other side of the speaker, will reverberate off the walls, which projects all of the sound in one direction, making for a fuller, louder sound, with greater bass response, , so that the sound reflects of the walls. First, make sure that your Fugoo Speaker is running firmware 1.00.36 or later. You can determine your Fugoo Speaker firmware version with the PC or MAC Fugoo Speaker Updater from the downloads section off the support tab on this site or on our Start page.

We made the speaker substantially louder with this upgrade.
Once you have updated your speaker, or have verified that it has version 1.00.36 or greater, then...
Your Speaker has two loudness modes: Normal Mode, and Loud Mode. These modes can be toggled back and forth by holding the Action button (O) as you click the Power button to turn the speaker on (the speaker must be off).
Normal mode - Recommended for every day indoor and outdoor usage. We have improved the software in the Fugoo Speakers to increase the overall loudness of most songs, and at the same time limiting the loudness of certain songs to limit or prevent distortion.
Songs that were recorded and mastered at a relatively low level will be boosted in loudness, while songs that were recorded and mastered at a very high level and can reach distortion are reduced some or boosted less to limit or prevent distortion.
Streaming services like Pandora and iTunes Radio will be 20-30% louder in Normal mode compared to previous firmware versions.
Loud mode - using the same smart software, we boosted the overall gain further to achieve an even louder experience. Loud mode is great for outdoor use when you want that extra oomph out by the pool or beach or barbecue party and some amount of distortion on some songs is not obvious in that environment. We have seen up to 50% greater loudness in Loud mode over a wide variety of content, versus previous firmware releases.
